Albina/Mississippi Platform Tri-Met Interstate Light Rail Line, Portland, Oregon. 2004 • Sheet Bronze, 4' x 6' x 1/4". Song lyrics etched into sheet bronze inset into the platform pavement celebrate the various ethnic communities historically represented in the neighborhood–Polish, Irish, and African-American. The roots, trunk and branches of a vine-like tree intertwine and separate as the cultures interact but maintain their separate identities. |
